Annual Town Meeting

The Annual Town Meeting is a community forum designed to give local electors an opportunity to voice opinions, raise concerns, and hear reports on selected local projects.  It is open to all registered electors in the parish. Residents can speak freely and vote on non-binding resolutions.

Whilst it is usually chaired by the Chair of the Town Council (or their vice-chair), it is not a council meeting.

The meeting must be held by law once a year between 1st March and 1st June

What is the Town Meeting?

The Annual Town Meeting is a public gathering for all local residents to discuss local affairs, whereas a Town Council Meeting is a formal, official business meeting of elected councillors who make legally binding decisions for the community
