VJ Day commemorative trail

Paying tribute to all those who served in the Far East and the Pacific, the VJ Day trail around town remembers, in particular, the Aylsham men who were in the Royal Norfolk Regiment, who went to Singapore and were immediately captured straight off the boats and spent the rest of WWII as Prisoners of War building the Burma Railway under Japanese control.

Pick up a leaflet from one of the many shops participating or from Hansells solicitors. Each venue taking part in the trail has a different veteran poster and a QR code that gives you a digital map to follow! 

There’s lots of fascinating facts and stories to be found around the town and don't forget to visit the Heritage Centre with their wealth of knowledge about Aylsham in times gone by.
