Following on from last year’s hugely successful event, ACT (Aylsham and District Care Trust) is delighted to announce that it will be running Agewise again in 2018. This free event, promoting living well and maintaining independence will be held at the ACT Centre, St. Michael’s Avenue, Aylsham, NR11 6YA on Monday 9th April from 10am – 2pm.
Agewise will be a wonderful opportunity to learn more about:
Finance and Benefits. Mobility and assistive aids. Housing and home care. Day services. Personal assistance. Handy person. Support for carers. Personal safety. Fraud and scam awareness. Dementia. Counselling. Eyesight. Hearing. Diabetes. Arthritis. Cancer. Transport. Social groups and clubs… and much more!
You will also be able to enjoy a free cup of tea or coffee and piece of cake!
More than 200 people attended the event in April 2017 and really enjoyed the opportunity to find out more about services and products available in the local area. Organiser, Janice Mellor, said that “it was fantastic to have so many different organisations together under one roof and the atmosphere was very welcoming and friendly.”
Daniel Williams (CEO) from ACT said, “We are all living longer, and it is important that we all become agewise if we are to live out these extra years independently and enjoying ourselves to the full. Aylsham & District Care Trust is very proud to provide many of these services for the people of our district. This event is a showcase not just for what we can do to help, but also for a large number of other services and providers who can support a fulfilling later life.”
For those who require it, ACT can provide transport to the event. You can be collected from home, or there will be a collection point, outside the Town Hall at 12:00pm, returning before 2:00pm.
Please call Alison on tel: 01263 733385 to discuss your transport needs.
The ACT Centre is wheelchair accessible, with parking and toilet facilities.
Our Orange Blossom Café will be open for snacks and lunch.
Thank you to MacKinnon Construction, Broadland District Council and Hansells Solicitors for sponsoring the event!
